Skanderborg Festival is known as "The most beautiful festival in Denmark" and is an annual event. It is always held during the 2nd weekend of August, Thursday to Sunday, and has been established since 1980.
The Organisation
The festival is organised by the Skanderborg Festival Club, which is totally non-commercial, non-political and non-sponsored. All profits from the festival are distributed into public, cultural activities (live music, theatre, other festivals etc.) in and around the town of Skanderborg. Over the years, the Skanderborg Festival has proved itself to be one of the best organised and one of the more successful festivals in Scandinavia.
